- Sunrise becomes ASES chapter.
1997
- Sponsored classes at WNCC on Solar Building Techniques, Sustainable Living, etc.
- Hosted "Legislative Day" introducing Nevada Legislature to Nevada’s abundant energy resources.
- Members support & helped pass several bills in Legislature (Net Metering, Electricity Restructuring and Portfolio Standards).
- Participated in Earth Day
- Joined Progressive Leadership Alliance of Nevada (PLAN)
- Started Permaculture Garden in Washoe Valley
- 2nd Annual Summer Solstice
- Sponsored "Accomplishing Sustainability in a Real World," lecture at WNCC.
- 2nd Annual ASES Solar Home Tour
- Winter Solstice Celebration

- Created joint Northern and Southern Nevada chapters of Sunrise.
- Joint ventured with EcoSage to introduce the SolarQuest Solar for Schools learning program to Nevada.
- Third Annual Solstice Celebration.
- Celebration of the completion of Betsy Gledhill’s Straw Bale Home.
- Participated in Earth Day.
- Third Annual ASES solar Homes Tour.
- Sponsored "Net Metering and You" seminar.
- Set up China Springs organic garden.
