NEW BUSINESS-
Susan Czopek discussed a Nevada League of Conservation Voters. She also is the new Director (?) of the Nevada Wilderness Project, with particular emphasis on the Black Rock Desert.

Kim mentioned that Kathy Stille, a representative of the Unitarian Church, had mentioned to her their interest in a specific project for their January tithe. A greenhouse for the China Springs garden was suggested.

Glenn Rambach from Desert Research Institute discussed their advanced energy research and particularly their interest in integrated systems, particularly for remote applications. (An interesting note was his assertion that for greater than 2 days of storage- hydrogen beats batteries.) He discussed DRI's efforts to move a solar/hydrogen/fuel cell system from Edwards AFB, that NASA would like DRI to continue its research. Cost to remove and rebuild the system might be in the $320,000 range but they believe they can find the funding. The system is valued at $5.6-13 million. It is a unique system, and would be quite prestigeous to have at DRI Reno. He also mentioned that the DRI fuel cell vehicle would be at the Jan 6 Los Angeles Auto Show. He mentioned some interest in wind-generated power systems for Mars!

Mark Harris brought a newsletter from ASES highlighting various resources and noting that the newsletter would be unable in the foreseeable future due to funding problems. Ongoing information could probably be found on their website-
