Wind Data Collection

Wind Odometer installed May 31, 2001 on a ridgetop in Corralitos, CA (Santa Cruz County). The purpose is to study the potential for grid-tied wind powered electric generation in this area.
This economical unit is manufactured by NRG Systems and the readout counts tenths of a mile of wind. The readout will be recorded on a regular basis and the average windspeed (in MPH) calculated -- dividing by the number of hours since the last recording. We will update this page with recorded data as it becomes available.
