9:15-10:30 Financing Financing Mechanisms: How to meet women's needs. Chair: Mustapha Mansouri, Minister of Commerce, Energy and Mining, Morocco
Rapporteur:

The objective of this session will be to identify successful examples of financial intervention that have increased the availability of financial resources for women to access or supply energy services. The session will also review some of the key considerations to attract private sector capital into the development of energy services for women, in particular the rural and peri-urban areas, and how to strengthen the partnership between the public and the private sector.
§ Credit mechanisms for the purchase of energy services.
§ Micro-credit for women entrepreneurs to start energy service businesses.
§ Private versus Public financing mechanisms.

Applications of Clean Energy Technologies

This session will focus on clean energy technologies and specific applications in both rural and peri-urban areas. Examples will highlight technologies that can meet women's needs, community needs and increase benefits to women (through the provision of education, health centers, telecom/information, water and sanitation, street lighting).
-Renewable: Sustainable production, efficient and clean transformation of biomass,
solar, wind, and hydro
-Grid and off-grid electricity supplies
-Coal: Low-smoke fuels (coal) for small consumers and clean coal technologies
