New Book Published on the Diversity of Photovoltaics

Power Where You Need It: The Promise of Photovoltaics is now available from Sandia National Laboratories PV Systems Assistance Center. The 52-page lavishly illustrated document is the latest publication from the PVSAC, which over the years has produced numerous documents on PV for experienced users within the PV community and those new to the technology. The book was made possible through the cooperation of many members of the PV industry, both large and small companies.

The message of Power Where You Need It is that photovoltaics is an enabling technology, providing power anywhere without a road, a wire, or a pipeline. The wide variety of installations shown in the book is intended to encourage potential users, including government agencies, to think about how solar energy could serve them. Not only does the book represent a myriad of diverse applications, but it also captures geographical diversity and includes photos by a large representation of the U.S. PV industry.
